Being Yourself

We get all kinds of advice on how we should act, how we should be, or what is acceptable to others.  While that works for some people, it doesn’t work if you are walking your own path.  It is acceptable to listen to these opinions, but in the end, we must make our own decisions on where we are going, and how we are going to get there.  Just be yourself.

Getting it Straight

It’s lonely out here
in inner space
surrounded by strangers,
I’m way out of place.

It’s way too hard
to be anyone else
so I’ve decided
I’ll just be myself.

I can’t get ahead
if I’m looking back.
I’ve come this far.
I’m on the right track.

I’ve got my story;
and so do you.
We need to live our lives
doing what we can do.

It’s better to be here
wherever we are.
It’s better to live with a dream
than to wonder in fear.

    1. Claudia, it is good to know you, too. We take a different approach to communication. You have many true friends, and that is always an indication that you are on a good path.
