Iris of the Soul
The iris of the eye
contracts with bright light
and expands with darkness.
This iris prevents blindness at night.
The iris of the Soul
expands with spiritual energy
and contracts with evil energy.
This iris assists in seeing good over evil.
Cold is the absence of heat.
Darkness is the absence of light.
Spiritual energy is compassion and love.
Evil energy is selfishness and hate.
The iris of the soul expands
to bring in the spiritual light
that overcomes the darkness of death
and guides us upon our Spirit Path.

Walking the Spirit Path 
“Iris of the Soul” is a beautiful poem that tells us how to nurture the expansion of our spiritual perception, allowing love and compassion to guide us, while guarding against the contraction of selfishness and hate, in order to find enlightenment and follow a path of goodness.
